Mark Bisanzo MD

Mark Bisanzo

Mark worked at Sugarbush as a volunteer on the ski patrol and did a J-Term internship in the old Sugarbush clinic in the late 1990s while a student at Middlebury.  He moved back to Vermont in 2015 and now works in the University of Vermont Health Network as an Emergency Physician.

Mark’s passions within Emergency Medicine include quality, education, and Global Health.  He worked extensively in Uganda during the first 10 years of his career after residency and still is the Director of Programs for Global Emergency Care, a non-profit organization that seeks to help build local capacity for Emergency Medicine in Uganda through true partnerships with Ugandan healthcare workers and educators.  He also still loves taking care of patients in the Emergency Department and often says he has the best job in the world (or maybe the second best one after back-country ski guides).

When not he’s not working, Mark spends as much time each winter as possible out on the mountain skiing.  In the spring, summer and fall, he loves to be outside trail running, hiking and growing food.  During all seasons, he treasures time spent with his family.  He is excited to be back at Sugarbush as part of the ski patrol and working at the Three Peaks Clinic.
