Paul Klawitter MD
Paul graduated from SUNY Upstate Medical School. He completed an Emergency Medicine Residency at Upstate and a fellow ship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at SUNY Buffalo. He has worked in community and academic emergency departments and for eight years in an orthopedic clinic prior to returning to SUNY Upstate in 2018.

He is now an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehab. He began, and currently directs, the ACGME recognized Sports Medicine Fellowship at SUNY Upstate. He is Head Team Physician for Division 1 Colgate University and LeMoyne University Sports. He is one of the team doctors for the Syracuse Mets and one of the pool physicians for the US Ski and Snowboard Team. He runs the Musculoskeletal course and the Practice of Medicine Course for SUNY Upstate Medical School. He is actively involved in concussion and sports cardiology research.

In his free time Paul enjoys running, telemark and cross-country skiing, biking, wilderness canoe tripping and backpacking. When he is stuck inside, he plays guitar.
