Than Moore MD MBA PA-C

Than originally grew up in New Hampshire where he started exploring the backcountry at a young age. Family biking, hiking, skiing, and paddling trips sparked his thirst for the lakes and mountains. He bopped around New England to complete his undergraduate and graduate studies in both Maine and Massachusetts before settling into his Vermont playground. He works as an Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant at the University of Vermont Medical Center and recently thought it was a good idea to go back to medical school and now works as a resident physician as well.

He completed his Fellowship in the Academy of Wilderness Medicine through the Wilderness Medical Society and spends his summers volunteering as the expedition medical provider for the Alaskan glacier traverse with the Juneau Icefield Research Program. He has experience as a ski patroller, local backcountry search and rescue crew member, marathoner, and outdoor enthusiast. He lives in a tiny house that he built with his own hands and also enjoys insightful campfire conversations around sustainable innovations and how we can better preserve our world for future generations. When not running around in the emergency department, he can be found chasing sunrises by skinning up snow capped mountains. He is also known to carry up watermelons in his backpack to enjoy as a mountain top snack!
